The Calgary Stampede
Calgary, AB
Killing the scene as usual, uber-talented band, Rooney played a fantastic show in
Calgary, Canada. Being in the very front row (up against the railing), it was super
hard for me to see how many people their actually were that night, but judging by my
current deafened ears, and my friends bruises on her knees from being pushed up
against the railing, i would say there were a LOT of people that turned out.
Playing a majority of their songs from their self-titled debut album, Rooney,
included Blueside, Stay Away, If It Were Up To Me, Popstars, I'm Shakin', Daisy
Duke, Sorry Sorry, and their encore, Simply Because, they also gave the audience
killer samples of their upcoming album, with songs such as Paralyzed, i'm pretty
sure one of them was called Pin Me Up, and the other i really can't remember. The
show seemed to end really fast, it was in fact approximately an hour long, but then
again what Rooney fan finds an hour of incredible music satisfactory? After the
show, die-hard fans including myself all gathered at the back of the stage in hopes
that Rooney would come out for autographs etc. And soon enough, Taylor Locke, Ned
Brower, Matthew Winter and Louie Stephens all came out as an explosion of screams
were let out, and later on joined Robert Carmine. Of course i got every single one
of them to sign my chucks, but i only got pictures with Taylor, Ned, and Robert but
that's good enough for me! Every member of Rooney was extremely curtious of their
fans and didn't mind talking with them...which i did. Taylor even said that they
really didn't even expect there to be a lot of people, "maybe 5 or 6 people"...yeah,
times 500! Anyways, the band was amazing and i cannot wait until they show up once
again!
