July 9, 2005
The Calgary Stampede
Calgary, AB

Me and my friends arrived at the Calgary Stampede grounds at around 5:45, which was early enough to catch Rooney's soundcheck. They played some random stuff, and they also played "If It Were Up To Me" in its entirety! There were already girls holding places right at the front, so I, of course, joined in.

When Rooney finally came on at around 9:30, the area was packed. I don't remember the exact order of the songs, but this was their setlist:

1. Blueside
2. If It Were Up To Me
3. Stay Away
4. These Things
5. A Better Place
6. Daisy Duke
7. Sorry Sorry
8. I'm Shakin'
9. Paralyzed
10. Enough's Enough
11. Popstars
12. Why Try?

Why Try? was not the song that I thought it would be. It seems that Rooney kept the same name as one of their older songs, but completely changed it. The huge crowd pleasers were "Blueside" and "I'm Shakin'" (which I know because it was when I got squished more!) Some strange people even decided to mosh...

After the show, Rooney hung around behind the stage for quite a while, signing autographs and talking to the fans. They were all VERY polite and courteous, and I have the best opinions of them. It was a great show, and I hope that they decide to come back to Canada soon! :)
