A special shout out to Melli, Manifest, IGotNedsStick and the other chix
who made it such a fun night for me during and after the show. POST THOSE
PIX !!
Of course an absolute total shout out to The Roons for possibly the best
set ever. They won over a totally packed, Travis-heavy crowd and totally
pleased us DC region fans with a set that was high energy, giddy, and
tight. It even almost felt like it was long enough!
Extra special shout out to Robert who retired quickly to the bus to try to
get better. His voice was spot on, in tune, with beautifully held out
sustained notes and I didn't know he was still under the weather until I
found out later. And he didn't seem to cutr back on any other the
extra-special moves we all know and love, either. WTG Rob! Get well soon,
Kit Kats are good medicine.....
And another serious WOOT to Lucas (no, not for the lovely boxer shorts),
but for the amazing mid-song save as Louie's keyboard almost went flying
into the 5th row. (And
Go Louie! for being so unflappable.) I was so glad that after 9 shows I
finally got to actually watch you play.
OK I can't leave the other guys out! I really enjoyed watching Matt this
time-he seems to be engaging a little more these days which is nice to
see, and now that I was hearing the songs live for the first time in a
while-I focused more on the bass licks and they sounded SO good! And hey
Ned, even if your shirt only falls off by accident on the West Coast, it's
ok- no one, ANYWHERE, is more enjoyable onstage on a drum set! And of
course last, Taylor- gah. Taylor OWNS. It was so cool after the show to
watch GUYS, that is Male People!! come up to Taylor in abolute total awe
of Taylor's mad,rad guitar playing skillz, yeah!! Oh yeah, and there were
More Guys dead center singing all the lyrics. See you dumb reviewers?!
Rooney is NOT just a Hair Band For Girls To Look At. HUH
So all together they spell R O O N E Y
My favorite band.
