New to Rooney? Need a few
questions answered? Check here!
Q: Where did Rooney get
their name?
A: They were originally called Ed Rooney, after the principal in the
movie "Ferris Bueller's Day Off", and then it was shortened to Rooney!
Q: When is their next
album coming out?
A: Rooney released 'Calling the World' on July 17, 2007 and their next album release has not been determined.
Q: Where can I hear
their older songs?
A: You may find fans who
would be willing to send you the songs, or you could download them from a
file sharing program, such as LimeWire. Check out
Discography and Lyrics
for more information on what songs are out there!
Q: Where could I get a
copy of some of their older EPs?
A: These would most likely be hard to find, but you may still be able
to find copies of "Mastedonia" out there that people are willing to sell
or give out.
Q: How old are they?
A: Their ages and
birthdays are as follows:
Robert (25): December 24th, 1982
Ned (29): December 15th, 1978
Taylor (23): August 5th, 1984
Louie (23): September 23rd, 1984
Matt (25): October 28th, 1982
Q: Do they ever
post on their official message board?
A: Yes, if they post,
you'll find them under these names:
Robert: SOLOBOB
Ned: nedbrower
Taylor: taylorlocke
Louie: Louie Stephens
Matt: MATTHEW ROONEY
Be very careful, because there are people on the boards who register names
VERY similar, but they are not the real thing.
Q: How can I get
in touch with them? Do you have their e-mail addresses?
A: Your best bet is to post on the official message board. At the
moment, they don't have public e-mail addresses. They DO read what's on the board, so that would be the
best way to get them a message!
Q: Do they have
girlfriends?
A: I am very much against
invading the band members' privacy. There is a lot of speculation about
their marital status, but you will not find the answers (or rumours) here.
Q: Was Robert Carmine
previously known as Robert Schwartzman?
A: Robert is currently using the last name 'Schwartzman', but did use 'Carmine' for a while. From one of his
posts on the official board:
"I created my road; I'm not walking down someone else's. I've set aside
the acting world for the music world. Yes, one can research my background
whether or not I call myself Carmine, but I'm not hiding; I'm getting off
the camel's back and walking. ... Carmine is the name of my mother's
father, who was the #1 flutist in his day and a wonderful conductor and
composer. He passed away when I was 9 so I have little memory of him, but
I feel I know him through his music. I like having his name next to mine,
kind of like a guardian angel."
Q: Have the guys had
any projects outside the band?
A: Check Side Projects.
Q: Were there any
previous members of Rooney?
A: Yes. Teddy Briggs used
to be the drummer, and Matt Star used to be the guitarist.
Q: Did Robert ever play
any other instruments in the band?
A: Yes, at one time,
Robert played keyboards, but then Louie joined and took on that position.
Q: What did "That Girl
Has Love" used to be called?
A: To respect Rooney, I will not state its previous title here. It was
their decision to change it for the album, and you can read about the
reason in this interview. If you'd like to know its old title, it shouldn't be
that hard, but you won't find it here.
Q: Is "Yuki San" a
Rooney song?
A: No, this is not a
Rooney song. This was a demo done by Robert, that somehow got leaked onto
the Internet. Due to a lot of requests for the lyrics, you can read them
here, but they won't be on the Lyrics page, simply because it isn't a song that was done by Rooney as a band!
