Q: It kind of bothers me when I don't know who sings what parts in songs b/c I'm a singer. So I was wondering if you sing the low background vocals or the high ones…and what part does ned sing?

A: ned and i have similar vocal ranges....both slightly higher than robert's. we dont have one particular formula that works for all of our vocal arrangements. when we do 3 part harmony, it works one of two ways, either i sing above robert and ned above me (i.e. if it were up to me), or i sing below robert and ned sings right above him (i.e. stay away). for two part backgrounds ned and i can go either way.....on sorry sorry i sing the lower "ahh" and ned the higher and on shakin i sing the lower and ned the higher. however, on that girl has love i sing the high "love" and ned the low, and on our ramones cover ned sings the lower "ahh" and i sing the higher one. it seems complicated but really its not. also, its not always the same person live that it was on the record. for example, the high chorus harmony in shakin and the outro "ahhs" in blueside were both me on the record, but ned sings them live.

Q: Who sings what background vocals on "No Wait But Listen I'm Talking to You (Gone)?"

A: i sang the high harmony part, sam farrar from phantom planet did the low part on the demo. we never play that song live anymore, but if we did ned would sing the high part and i would do sam's part.

Q: Does this situation piss you off/could you tell me how you feel about this?: some of your old fans don't want to be friendly to the new fans because they feel like they own you…and some of the older rooney fans are pissed off at ya'll because rooney seems to be getting more famous/going mainstream.

A: our old fans who act that way are silly. but i have faith that they'll get over themselves eventually and go back to supporting our band because they like us.

Q: Do you often get recognized in public? If so, does that somewhat intimidate you (I’ve heard you're really modest and don't think you're famous at all)?

A: im NOT famous at all and i do not get recognized that often. when i do its not really intimidating although i am modest.
